Laptop Battery Replacement Discussion

by stationpages / December 27, 2009 4:16 AM PST

It's time for a new battery for my HP DV1000.
Is there a discussion that someone can point me to involving safety, OEM vs aftermarket, best bang for the buck, etc?

BANG may be the right word.

After so many failed replacements the only advice you'll get from me is to get the one from the maker.

Or else.

Bite the bullet and buy an OEM. Made for the machine, factory warranty, etc.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
