If the battery is over 2 years old, let's not chance it as the battery is only rated for 300 cycles and you have a chance it could be gone. Not worth the risk.
HP DV7 laptop
I left the laptop on and left the house for several hours. Did not notice when I left it was not plugged in. When I returned it was dead due to the battery being fully discharged. This oversite caused the motherboard to be destroyed.
Bought another hpdv7 on a good deal from ebay. No HDD ,Power cord or battery. Used the power cord from my dead one and the Hd. Did a clean install of win 7 ultimate and it it working great.
Now my question. If I put the drained battery from my non working DV7 into the one I just bought, is there danger of doing damage or should I bite the bullet and get a new battery?
