Why not call the usual places and ask?
If they don't want to help, don't shop there. A great way to see how future support will be.
Again, are you telling me that HP, Dell and others will not talk to you?
I'm getting ready to start college and need to buy a laptop. I'm an engineering student and need to be able to run some fairly complex 3D modeling software, so I need at least 4G of DDR3 or 6G DDR2 (I'm told that's about the same) and at least a 1G dedicated graphics card. I'd also like to be able to hook the computer up to a TV and watch HD movies, possibly via a built-in Blu Ray player. I'm looking for decent battery life, something like 3hrs, and don't really care about screen size or weight. Any suggestions?
