I looked at a few and see the usual 300 cycle battery. This means from 1 year to maybe 2 years and you buy a new battery if you decide to run on battery power all day.
Can someone please advice me on which of these laptops to go for. I need them for undergrad studies in college. I want a laptop which will be enough to run applications like Matlab, AutoCAD etc. Should give good performance with windows 7 running multiple applications AND should get as less heated up as possible. I was thinking on the lines of corei3 (I do not understand the difference between 1st gen and 2nd gen for my use except that 2nd gen is costlier), 4 GB RAM, minimal harddisk (intend to buy an external one anyway) and preferably 14.1 inch(does it give more battery life than a 15.6 inch one ?) Also was thinking of extended warranty. Please advise.
