Laptom Brightness problem

Apr 14, 2017 6:30AM PDT

Hello I'm having a problem with brightness settings on my laptop
basically it doesn't work I have tried to update drivers and still nothing.

When I switch my Intel driver to microsoft basic display adapter
the brightness still doesn't work properly, it will make the screen go to the dimmest option or the brightnest option

please help me.

Maybe a factory reset will clear this up. Without make and model, no one can check into if it requires an app to set the brightness.

That's the series. Not the full model number.

Z500-MBYG2GE for example would be the full model number. A reinstall of Windows is usually missing drivers. I can't check what drivers Lenovo put out for your machine with just a series model.

Please add the full model number.

Sadly you need factory restore media now.

Lenovo didn't list a screen brightness app there so I can't find it.

What I find works in such cases is the restore media. This must be from the laptop maker.
Call Lenovo support and ask about this one. Maybe someone changed a BIOS setting and with so many BIOS out there it's an odd one I haven't seen.

Time to call it in.
