Resolved Question

Language Icon Problem

Jun 18, 2014 2:48AM PDT

After re-installing Windows XP (thanks everyone's helps), I get a language icon problem. I configure Chinese and install Google Chinese Pinyin IME. The language icon shows up correctly on the taskbar for an administrator account, but not for non-administrator accounts. For non-administrator accounts, a keyboard icon shows up instead and the Google Chinese PinyYin IME doesn't show up. I can't find how to resolve this problem on either Windows XP language configuration nor Google Chinese Pinyyin IME configuration.

With the passing of support you can change the account to an admin one, get it working then try changing the account back to limited.

That helps

I tried a few with any progress. So, I have to grant the account with an administrator and install Google Chinese Input. That isn't a right way, but I have to use it. Thanks Bob for your thought.

That was the way for years.

It's an old IT method that still works today. A limited user may not install apps and apps may not install for all users so the method is the right way IMO.
