Are there any HD hard drive or flash memory camcorders out there with a Lanc Port? Even an old one that I can find on e-bay. I need a camcorder that uses a wired remote and records video onto a hard drive or flash memory.
Thanks

of will be:
* Sony HVR-Z7U (compact flash), Panasonic AG-HVX200 (P2 cards).
* Any miniDV tape based camcorder with a LANC port (Sony HDR-HC1, HDR-FX1, HDR-FX7, HDR-FX1000, most of the HVR series; Canon XHA1, XLH1; JVC GY-HD series) and on the FireStore external hard drive compatibility list at Focus Enhancements.
The Panasonic AG-HMC150 does not use a standard LANC, but does have ports for Panasonic-specific zoom/focus/iris wired feature control...
If you are looking for consumer camcorders, you won't find any - other than a few helmet cam systems.
The sony hdr cx100 while not having a true Lanc port does allow remote operation through its AV/remote port using a controller such as the

Sony offers a tripod that has a remote commander with record/zoom control built into the handle of the tripod. This is suppose to work with nearly all the flash memory camcorders. It connects though the A/V remote port. The model number is VCT-60AV and can be found on Amazon.com. Search the Sonystyle site and a list of compatible camcorders is available. Why Sony doesn't offer a separate remote commander is a mystery.
