That machine was good in its day but since both CPU and GPU would need updating to handle today's games I suggest you don't change just one but both.
And even if you changed to the C2D and a better GPU the games continue to advance so no one should answer yes.

I've been experiencing lags in fps/3d games ,I surfed the net for awhile and many said that the Pentium4 is too slow to run games. If i were to change my processor to Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9550, will i be able to solve this problem?
