lag

help i need to somehow clean my computer. Well when i play gunbound..it starts normally but overtime it eventually slows down like a turtle and i cant put enough power. Plz help, plz name everything you can think off. I dont have spyware so dont worry about taht.
specs:
windows me
192 mb ram
17.3 gb harddrive

First, it would be nice to know which antispyware tools you use...just so we can be sure.

Next, follow all of the instructions in the links below to shut down unnecessary start up programs and clean out the junk files on the computer. It may take a while to follow all these steps, but it will certainly help things run smoother.:

After that, IF your computer is running fine and had no real errors lately, temporarily disable System Restore to free up some of the bloat that occurs on Windows ME. Temporarily disable SR, restart the computer, then re-enable it again. It should free up quite a fit of space. DO NOT do this if your computer has been having problems lately. You might need those System Restore points.

And remember, when you're ready to play games, restart the computer and shut down all unnecessary programs, such as your antivirus while playing the game. Of course, you don't want to leave the AV disabled after the game, but it should help during your playtime.
