Is some "Metal Gear Box" that I put an 160GB drive into. It was 40$ for the box and 129 for the drive. Drive prices have dipped since then so you can hit your price point. It's quite sturdy and while I wouldn't bang the drive around the case is all metal and quite strong. The all metal construction help pull the heat out too.
Just sharing.

Although Cnet provides plenty of information about the Lacie d2 triple extreme (or whatever the name for it is firewire800/400/usb), there is very little info for the diskgo model made by edge.
I am looking for a sturdy, durable and fast external hard drive 120-160 gb thats less than 160 dollars (i know that both these models I can find online for less than 160 dollars).
I use a newer Powerbook G4 as well as a Dell PC which will also use the hard drive a little bit. So basically im looking for something dual platform, but has to have good and easy Mac compatibility and support/format ability etc... I also need it to be quiet, I hate noisy drives, also dont want it overheating logically.
Anyways, thanks in advance for the help. Any statistic on buffer size and seek time for Diskgo model would also be helpful. Thanks again.
