Are you sure you are using the correct terminology here.
I understood Retrospect to be a Backup solution and not a Cloning tool like Carbon Copy Cloner.
The Retrospect website makes no mention of Cloning.
If you are referring to the Duplicate function of Retrospect, you will find that it is NOT bootable from an external, or otherwise, drive. The only advantage of using the Duplicate function is that you can access the files without having to go through Retrospect to get them.
If you wish to create a bootable Clone of your drive, you should be using something like Carbon Copy Cloner which will produce a Bootable image of your HD.
P
I have setup this HD as a Back up to my G5 running OS 10.4.11 (Firewire Connection)
Retrospect clones the G5 to the LaCie daily; works great.
Bu the LaCie will not show up as a bootable disc under 'Startup Disk' or when I restart holding down the Option key even thought it is a clone of the G5.
How do I get the G5 to recognize the LaCie as a bootable disk?
Many thanks!
