labtop- firewire/usb question

hello i have an hp pavilion ze4200 labtop and it only has 2 usb 1 ports which are being used and i 4pin 1394 slot which is being used. what options do i have to upgrade to have addtional usb2.0 ports and firewire 800. do i have to change stuff out because its the older stuff or are there some sort of adapters so my computer can use the faster technology also, thanks
