Question

LA660V or LB730V

May 20, 2014 8:54AM PDT

I hope this post is in the right place.

I've been looking for a 55 inch TV for the last week or so now and having come across the two models I can't decide between them, I can hardly see a difference other than the look and the processing rate.

Can anyone offer me some advice please?

Thanks in advanced.

Answer
OK, let's get something basic out of the way.
May 20, 2014 9:04AM PDT

The signal we send to said units is 50 or 60Hz so 100 or 200Hz motion rate is not going to change what we are supplying to the set. I've seen good and bad image processing and in fact tend to disable it so I get the real image without all the fuss with trying to get rid of judder.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_interpolation and other articles give pros and cons. It's your choice but I'll take the cheap exit.

Processing rates.

I should of made it clear that I understand the processing rates, sorry about that. I was just wondering if much else is going to separate those two and justify spending £400 on a newer model? I can't see myself but I don't know too much about TV specifications.

I'm not LG

Time to find reviews and try emailing the reviewers with your questions. It seems a shame the folk that make and sell these are not talking.

Again, even now I turn that off. That's my choice.

LG

I know you're not LG, I've looked continously for reviews on the 660V and come up empty every time because it's a shop exclusive model to Curry's which is something that was putting me off it because I couldn't get a decent review anywhere and why I was looking for people opinions.

My opinion

Is that since I turn off the motion processing due to reasons you find all over, it's not something I pay for.
Also, the "Smart TV" is sometimes turned off. In the case of LG, I never found a company response to their snooping. You can read about that at:
