Your model is different to the ones for the European market. It won't have SCART connectors either.
For Internet@TV, the guide says:
"This function may not be supported depending on your country."
I have my laptop hooked up and it does support 1920x1080, though I need to configure it through the properties for the second display ("Monitor" on my laptop, rather than "LCD" for the built-in panel).
There is also a 4:3 Tools picture option on PC mode, as well as 16:9
I started with auto adjust set, but I found the PC input, when silent, tended to pick up noise which was amplified by the set, so I now have AA off and the sound varies quite a bit between sources.
Hi everyone,
I would like to ask for your expert opinion about the following issues:
1. I would like to know, why is it that for this unit (LA40B650T1RXUM) digital audio out (optical) is not found on the back of the LCD. This unit seems to be different from the LE40B650 review found on this site : http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/Samsung-LE40B650/ isn't it that all 40b650 units are the same on, at least, the features, and connections that it offers?
2. Internet@TV : service not available is what I received when trying to use this feature. Firewalls are disabled on the router, and LCD can be seen (pingable) on the network (connected via LAN cable). Tried both manual configuration (with proper values of course) and automatic configuration with success at network testing, but still no internet@TV. How do I enable it? Is it possible for the installed firmware to have this feature disabled? If so, what firmware can I download (and from where)and that I can safely use for this unit, so that this feature can be enabled?
My current Location/Area : KSA, Riyadh
3. I have read that this LCD has 1:1 pixel mapping, how come then when I tried using the unit as a monitor screen for my laptop, and changing the laptop resolution to 1920 X 1080, the screen in the LCD seems to display only a part of what is displayed in my laptop's screen? It seems to work best for only 1024x768, with partial cropping(displays only about 95% of the laptop screen). What do I need to do so that 1:1 pixel mapping will work. I tried, auto adjust option but to no avail.
4. My current sound system is only 2.1 and I connect it via the headphone connection at the back of the LCD. How come the sounds coming from the LCD does not have the proper sound fidelity/loudness I was expecting? I have already set my sound system (altec lansing 2.1 series) to about 75% volume,of which when connected to my laptop is very loud already, but still the sound coming from the LCD is quite low even if the volume set on the LCD, for the headphone connection, is already at 100%. Can users have the ability to change the equalizer settings for the headphone from the LCD? Unfortunately, when going through the LCD options, some of the settings are already set, especially on the sound settings. The only available option for me to change/use is Sound reset ... and sound auto adjust.
I wish I could ask the SAMSUNG experts here in KSA,Riyadh for the answers to my question, unfortunately, no one seems to know the proper answer to what I am looking for.
Hoping to hear from you soon.
Thanks
