It's difficult to pinpoint the cause of the problem. Technically, any one of those three pieces of equipment could be causing a handshake issue, and then the variable isn't limited to that in that even the cables could cause an issue.
You might try calling the customer service center in your area to see if there is an update available, but it could, or could not, be the television.
Been reading through a couple of forums and basically i've found that there is a firmware update that does sort out some HDMI handsake issues. The reason I need to do it, as I've just bought the Onkyo TX-NR807 AVR and when using my PS3 and samsung DVD playing the TV is having sync issues. The components work fine when directly plugged into the TV, but when i go via the receiver it looses signal and even sometimes has large delays detecting the receiver's OSD menu. I have the latest PS3 os installed. Also to note that when loading games and blu rays on the PS3 the panel comes up with No Signal for a few seconds every time.
I'm in South Africa and our local samsung site doesn't have firmware files.
My main question is, could my TV be the problem, as i've tried my PS3 on another receiver but using a projector, and there was no problems then.
