LNxxA650 vs LNxxA850 Series
Dec 18, 2008 1:21PM PST

mdsniper7,

Thanks for your inquiry about our panels.

The picture quality of the A650 and the A850 is very similar. There are some other features available on the A850 Series that you might want to consider:

1. Content Library - Games, Cooking, Exercise modules built in
2. DNLA compatibility
3. Slim design

Let me know if you have futher questions.

well see thats what i was wondering. I have heard negative things about the 850 backlight because it is thin, now I already own the a650 and love it but I was wondering if its worth getting a 850 right now or is the 650 sufficent

well see is it true the 850 has a better processor and what is DNLA and is it worth having, also does the 850 get better 16.9 widescreen then the 650 because its thinner

They're similar

mdsniper7,

I don't believe there is a huge difference in the processor. DLNA is the Digital Living Network Alliance, and allows you to hook up your computer to stream some video via ethernet to the television.

The 16:9 widescreen panel is the aspect ratio, and is idential on both panels.

You're good with a 650
Dec 19, 2008 9:45AM PST

If you've already got a 650, you're good ... unless you have a need to spend your money just to have the latest or just don't care about money.

I have an 850 and it's nice but the 650 is probably just as good. The Content Library, InfoLink and DLNA are cutesy features that you can easily live without. If you hook a Windows Media Center PC up to a 650, you'll have something that's 100x better than Content Library, InfoLink and DLNA. I have both and I far and away prefer Windows Media Center.
