Kyocera Slider

Does anyone out there own this phone? My wife has it, and dropped it in the toilet while helping our two-year old go potty! It works, but the screen is blank.

Two consequent questions:

(1) If I can program her basic numbers for her, then she won't care about the screen. But I'm hoping to talk to someone who has the phone, to figure out how to do so, given that I can't see the screen.

(2) Verizon tells me the battery and phone will gradually corrode, so I might as well replace it now. I'm replacing the battery, but the corrosion idea sounds a bit silly with regard to the phone itself. Any thoughts about that?
