General discussion

Konica Minolta Dimage Z3

Apr 27, 2005 11:27PM PDT

Hello Sir:

For one of the cnet users, you have suggested buying Minolta Dimage Z3, which I am interested to buy too - based on its features. However, there are not many user opinions or reviews in camera websites.

The 2 reviews that are available said the opposite.

DC Resource says: The image quality is subpar (ususally we would look at the image quality first rather than lng lens etc)

http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/minolta/dimage_z3-rev

Megapixel.net says: The image quality is best even at the long end of the zoom.

Which is true? Can anyone help me? There are not any/many user opinions or reviews on this camera. Please feel free to comment on any other qualities other than image q, if you know, please.

If you have concerns about photo quality,
you should see for yourself.

Here is a link (part of a review) that has sample photos from the Z3.

They are full size (4 meg) so you examine them carefully.

The Knoica Minolta Z5 is now available - it has 5 megapixels and should show even more detail. Amazon.com shows it priced at $390.

The photos in the link that you have sent look good to me. I wanted to buy initially Panasonic DMC z-5/ z-15 but the real issue with panasonic is their warranty is only 3 months and those cams record only 340 x 480 movies. I know camera is for camera but in certain times, we can't carry both camera and camcorder. So, having VGA quality movie helps.
