KodakScanMate - Scan 2 PDF Bitonal

Nov 29, 2010 3:49AM PST

I just inherited a Kodak Scanmate i1120 scanner. My Fujitsu scanner had died and this is what I was given.

I downloaded the driver (Windows Vista) and installed. I can scan but there appears to be no pre-sets and also I can only scan to grey, not bitonal (black and white).

Any ideas?

I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 to generate the PDF files, but i had been using Windows Fax and Scan.

Install IRFANVIEW and post process the image to B/W.

I suppose that would work. However, wouldn't the gray be turned to black?

I do have GIMP already installed (I mostly use Ubuntu but downgrade to Windows 7 at work.)

I'll try this out.

Bummer the scanner can't simply scan B&W.

Gray to black.

If I recall I set the threshold of what gray is black or white. I think that's true with the better apps.
