Resolved Question

Kodak Zi8 video camers frozen.

Dec 14, 2011 10:02PM PST

My Kodak Zi8 video camera is frozen. The screen lights up and looks like it is ready to start shooting. The screen shows what the lens is pointing at but there is no response from any of the buttons. I wont even turn off.
I've tried removing the battery which does turn it off of course but when I replace the battery and turn it on the same problem occurs.
It's 6 months out of Warrantee and Kodak want $70 to even look at it and $155 - $195 to repair. What a rip off.

Any suggestions on how to fix it?

I had the same thing happen.
I was about to try removing the battery but instead I accidentally dropped the camera on a carpet floor.
A drop of about 3 feet.
When I picked it up, the camera was off.

I turned-on the camera and it has been working fine ever since.

I don't recommend dropping the camera, just reporting the news.
Perhaps the off/on switch is sticking
Don't know.
