Kodak Zi8 Pocket Video Camera

Dec 31, 2010 11:21PM PST

I purchased the Kodak Z18 Video Camera to record speeches I give so I can load them on my web site & on You Tube.
I had a friend tape me a couple of times when I was doing public speeches and the video quality is great but the sound sucks. I was speaking from a mic and the recorded sound hardly picks it up.

This camera was rated well. Any advice on if it is possible to rectify this? Is there something I am not doing in the settings?
Should I return it and just purchase somnething else for my purposes?

thanks

To get camcorders and these pocket video things with external mic jacks so you can correct the microphone issues later.

I've yet to find a camcorder with internal microphones that is acceptable to all.

it does have an external mic jack actually..makes sense. Thanks. Snyone have a suggestion for a wireless mic that would work well wth it. A corded one would be an issue because I speak on a stage normally.
