Hey,
I've been trying to figure out what to do, hopefully someone can help me out.
Me and my brother are going to be making a Nintendo Fan site, doing video reviews, video articles, video news, etc.
We tried doing a couple webisodes on a webcam, it wasn't that good. Quality seemed low, and the frame rate was bad, our mouths didn't seem to move at the speed of the sound.
Anyway, I'm trying to get a decent to good quality camcorder.
First I looked at some cheaper ones, the MoviePix DV-80 ($90) and the RCA EZ205($130) and the Creative Vado($120).
The RCA and Vado started to seem ok, but I haven't been able to figure out if they would be decent enough. For both Video and Audio.
So I raised what I may spend, and found the Kodak ZI6 at a staples nearby for $178 with a 4GB SDHC Card. It seems pretty good and I'm leaning toward it. But I read it doesn't have image stabilization, and I'm not sure how bad that would be. It could be mounted sometimes, but at that price I'd like to be able to move it around a bit and record in various places.
So then I saw the JVC GZ-MC100U on clearance online for $299. It looks pretty good, and I see it used to cost alot more. And it says it has image stabilization. But when I read reviews on it, I see they went back as far as 2004, and the Kodak ZI6 to 2004. With a four year gap in them, I'm wondering if the Kodak is reasonable close to the JVC's quality or not.
I'm really not willing to go higher than $300, as going from the ZI's $178 tag to the JVC at $299, that's quite a leap for me.
Anyway, I sort of feel like if I'm already paying nearly $200 for the Kodak, I might as well pay the extra $100 if the JVC is much better.
Because I'd also like to be able to record other things if I'm spending this much, stuff like band videos for my brothers band.
Anyway, any help would so very much be appreciated.
A main question I have, is the JVC GZ-MC100U worth $300? And is it that much better than the Kodak ZI6? Is it worth it to get it instead?
(P.S. The prices I said above are in Canadian dollars, for places I can get them.)
Thanks.
