Both cameras are a good choice for a camera.
But........
Neither is outstanding for video.
The LS743 video is 640x480 at 13 fps (frames per second).
The A75 is 640x480 at 15fps and is limited to about 2 minutes for each shot.
For flicker free video you need 25 to 30fps.
.........................
For your target price range, I would start looking at the:
Nikon 5900 (about $260): 5 megapixels - video 640 x 480 at 30fps.
Note: If you see the less expensive Nikon 4600 or 5600, be aware that the video for those 2 cameras is 640 x 480 at 15fps. And the 4600 has no sound.
The Nikon 5900 is getting great reviews and it takes excellent photos.

Hey im looking for a good budget QUALITY camera. I just want it to be a good camera that I can have fun with. Looking for something that takes good quality pictures and can take good videos that i can transfer to my computer. I also was hoping to spend b/w $200-270. I did some research and the Kodak LS743 and Cannon Power Shot A75 seem to be some good choices. I know the cannon is only 3 megapixel but does that difference really matter and which would have better video quality. If anyone has any knowledge or suggestion it would be very helpful, Thank you
