Question

Kodak EasyShare Z1012 IS question

Jul 25, 2014 7:01AM PDT

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this forum so please bear with me as I try to explain the issue I'm having with this camera I bought today.

My used Kodak EasyShare z1012 is seemed to be good true when I bought it today but as soon as I put the new batteries in and took a picture I knew I had found a good deal.

However, now that I've owned it for a few hours I played with it again and the camera is acting up.

It seems every time I turn the camera on (any setting save for video mode) the screen flashed for a second then the lens pops out half an inch then it turns off. Even the white light on the top flashed for a second then shuts off.

I thought it was the batteries but I put in the duracell quantum and they have the power bar checker where you press the two buttons on the battery and it will show you how full or empty the battery is and in my case, they are both full.

Also when I do manager to take a picture it will save to the internal hard drive of the camera (I will see the counter go from six pictures left to five) then the screen will go black. I'll press and hold the power button and it will flash back on but the picture will be gone.

I don't know what is going on with this thing but I do only have six more days before I can take it back. :<

If anyone can provide help that would be great. I'll try to answer any questions. Happy

Thank you in advance!

You'll want to return it as the clearance/firesale market is full of this maker's units. Return and try again.

And that is not how it's supposed to work. Yes, the lense comes out and the cover opens, it can be set to default flash for when you take the picture, but it's not supposed to shut itself off UNLESS your batteries are low. Check to see if the batteries you used are actually good.

just looked and that's a different model than the one I have. I bought it new and been happy enough with it all these years later, still works great. Had to put a new lithium rechargeable battery in it eventually. Great as a pocket camera and does some bearable video, just bearable.
