There has always been friendly rivalry between Kiwis (New Zealanders) and Australians, even if Australians have taken unfair advantage, because we are in the greater number.
Thus Kiwis have been put in much the same light as the Irish, relative to supposed English superior intelligence.
Cedric, a recent arrival from New Zealand, went into a fish and chip shop and asked for, "Fush n Chups."
The owner of the shop said, "You are from New Zealand aren't you."
Our startled hero said, "How do you know that?"
The chippy owner said, "Well, here in Australia we say "chips", whereas you said "chups".
This worried our hero and so he speny the next six months practicing to say "chips".
Eventually he was confident that he had it, so he went into a shop and said:
"Fish and chips please."
The shop owner said, "You are a Kiwi aren't you."
"How do you know?" replied our hero.
"Well", said the shop owner, "this is a hardware store."
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
