Kit Kat is Krap!

May 16, 2014 7:07AM PDT

I no longer have Swype and my personal dictionary has disappeared due to the Kit Kat update which was forced onto my Droid Razr Maxx HD yesterday! No more color to text messages and the icons at the top of the screen are all WHITE! I want Jelly Bean back!!! This is BS!

Sounds like this is not your day (or phone.)

One of the complaints I read is that the phones are under control of the carrier. Some folk learn about XDA DEVELOPERS and break rank. Will you?

Just your opinion......

I had no issues or concerns when Verizon sent the upgrade of the OS to my Galaxy S4 to KitKat. To each their own.

Yep...

So, are you a Swype user or no?

I will confess.....

.....I have never used the Swype feature. I imagine you could find an application that would do the same thing.

Absolutely!

Yes, you can find the Swype (from Nuance) program at the Google Play Store...30 day free trial, then you PAY! It was free and included with Jelly Bean. Now, with Kit Kat, they took it away...if you want it back you have to pay. That, to me, is a dirty trick!

Welcome to the real world.......

......of "Trial Ware". Some features/applications are "free" for a certain time frame and then you have to pay to keep them. The decision was made between the developer and the Android/Google Play Store. The developer could have just as easily disabled the application by requiring a paid update to continue using it. Don't blame the carrier or the Play Store in this case.

Agreed

I'll say for some users KitKat is more like a pain than a gift. I have been hearing too much complaint about KitKat there are numerous threads in which user keep complaining about the problems like SD card not working, Lagging, .... etc. This give me a feel that I would not update my device to KitKat, I'll keep postponing it unless some good work has been done with the KitKat.

Good thinking!

I wish Kit Kat had never been force-fed to my phone. Oh, to have Jelly Bean back! If you can, keep it from your phone!

I wish I'll keep the Jellybean

Well, i am getting an option to update to KitKat but I keep on postponing the update. Happy I wish this should not happen with me because I have heard that once the vendor is trying to force the update you can't postpone.

Kitkat 4.4
May 29, 2014 9:06PM PDT

Hi, Dear I am not satisfied with your comment. My friend recently bought Moto E with Kitkat 4.4. I used that and really saying I found it more user friendly as compared to Jelly Bean. The security is also enhanced in Kitkat which will allow the users to protect their phone from unwanted users. Along with multi widget screen lock, the OS looks amazing to me. But what you are saying is not experienced by me or my friend till now.
