I have a computer and a laptop. One Window XP and the other is Acer; Window XP.

My Kingston Memory Stick is a DataTraveler with 512MB. It worked two days ago and suddenly stops. Now, when I plug it in either machine, it doesn't show on (My) Computer or anything. It doesn't do that ding sounds and the tiny light doesn't appear either.

Can someone help? Everything (work, homework, etc) is saved on it and I can't get it to load!!! HELP!! PLEASEE

Re: stick damaged

This is a variant on the sad story of people storing data on an external hard disk only without caring for a backup. Quite a few end up without their valuable data.
But it also happens with people thinking a memory stick is a safe place to STORE data. Somehow, they only learn the hard way it's a good device to TRANSPORT data.

Things you can try:
1. A third or fourth machine.
2. Data recovery software. Try Recuva (free) or GETDATABACK or ZERO ASSUMPTION RECOVERY (free demo, pay to use).
