Kingston Flash Memory USB Key

Apr 5, 2006 2:07AM PDT

Hi, I got a gift of a 2GB Kingston Flash USB Memory key. problem is I can see the 2GB, I can rite to almost the 2 GB but when I try to read or access files stored then I get a bunch of zeros.

Have tried the key on different computers with Win2000 and Win-XP but same result. I cannot return the Key so any suggestion if I can fix it or am I stuck with a dud. I tried formatting under Windows but no luck and also tried defrag etc but no change.

Jayesh.

Kingston's website and download the driver(s) for the device. If memory serves it has to be initialized.

USB Memory stick

Jack,

Have looked all over their web-site but could not find anything. Have even written to them but no response so far.

XP does not require any drivers for this device and I did try to reformat this with no change.

Sorry things aren't getting better. The stick is probably broke. Does gift giver know if it is still under warranty? May be only way to get one working.
