Question

kia fog lights problem

Sep 9, 2017 8:50PM PDT

Hi everyone, I have just joined the forum and need a little help with my car. I have a 2011 KIA Optima that has a so weird fog light problem. Normally, fog lights don't work, but whenever i turn on headlights (low beam) and use the right signal, the fog lights start working. I tried all the other combinations, but only fog lights work like that (low beam + right signal). So do you have any idea what the problem is? Thanks in advance..

Answer
Blinker fluid

Hi; Sounds like a mult-function switch. The switch, in many cases, will operate turn signals, headlights, and wipers. Pardon the 'blinker fluid', just a little levity. Happy

Answer
check the wiring under the car

fog lights are often so low the wires aren't that well protected and that's where all the action under the bumper is happening anyway, especially when driving in rain and through puddles. Possible short in them now.
