Keyboard scroll keys

by phil66 / May 24, 2006 12:34 PM PDT

When I try to scroll c/net using the keyboard keys while the windows is at the top position. The page down or end keys will not move the screen.

If I use the mouse and scroll down a number of lines and use the page down and end keys they will then move the screen.

When on the bottom of the page the home and page up keys will move the screen up.

Tried other forums (Ubuntu,Castle Cop COU) and the keyboard keys work from any position without having to use mouse scrolling.

I do not have another keyboard at the moment to try.

This is a dell by microsoft key board about 5 years old.I blew it out and turned it upside to shake out any trash. There was nothing to speak of inside.

Thanks for the help
Ray

Why???
Does it work with other forums besides c/net and also works after mouse scrolling a few lines!!!!

Yes on age being a factor but I do preventive maintence on keyboard on a regular basis.

Will try another keyboard to prove or disprove.

No good results

Borrowed a $108.00 Microsoft keyboard and got the same results.

Everybody works with the exception of c/net

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
