keyboard problem

Dec 13, 2003 4:11AM PST

Have a simple Belkin keyboard with no extras re fancy keys for internet etc.

At times I hit some combination of keys that throws me into caps mode without the caps lock key being on. If I turn the caps lock key on, I will be in small letters mode. Gets very confusing.

Try as I might I cannot find what combination of keys I must of hit to get into this caps mode and sometimes in order to get out of it I have to reboot the PC.

Am on OS WinXP 2002 servicepack 1
have Mozilla email and Internet 6.0 browser
Have MS Office 2000

This will occur at anytime whether I am in word processing, in email window or any place online.

Can anyone tell me what it is I am doing tha causes this?

This one is noted by many as a capslock out of sync issue. Since it vanishes on reboot and isn't as widely reported as before, you may only find that another keyboard and/or BIOS will resolve your machine's ills.

You haven't done anything wrong.

Your answer and article seem to bed "good news and bad news" Good - I haven't done anything wrong; and bad - no easy fix for it." So guess I will just have to struggle along. Thanks for the info.
