keyboard problem

i turn on my computer and it goes to log on .. and try to type my password .. but nothing happens it won't let me type. i made sure the keyboard is plugged into the keyboard hole .. and it is .. the keyboard does work when i go into setup b4 the computer loads and it allows me to hit caps lock and do others things but when i type my password for log on nothing happens .. i tried several types restarting it and turning the computer off .. is there anything else i can do to fix my computer ? please help its been over a month of not being able to log onto the computer ..and it computer is a year old dell with xp. thanks kim

If so, tell about it. An old version did that and the solution moves around on the logitech web site.

Is your keyboard Numlock light on when you switched on the computer ? Are you able to type in your password in Safe Mode ?
