keyboard problem

when i try to type the 'at' symbol to email someone in thier address a comma appears and i havnt a clue why so when im typing an address it comes up like this as an example bimbo"hotmail.com
im getting round it by copying the symbol out of word and pasting it into the address but its a pain.please help someone,stuart

Try another keyboard, see if the issue is duplicated.

got wrong settings on my keyboard.a friend sent me the solution so here it is if anyone requires it
Do you use windows xp if so try this

start
control panel
regional and language options
language
text services and input language

click details and change to UK IN BOTH BOXES

Are you from the UK? (Us good old Brits!) If so, then Windows comes automatically set to US keyboard layout, and the " and @ keys are reversed (so if you press shift and 2 you should get @). To fix it, go into Control Panel (Start Menu --> Control Panel) and go to Date, Time and Regional Options then go Regional Options, and in the window that appears make sure everything that mentions language is set to English (United Kingdom). Also, go to the Languages tab and click on the "Details..." button, and in this window make sure the UK keyboard layout is selected. This should solve this problem and any other future ones involving American/English language conflicts.
