You are correct in that you need extra software to enable those multimedia buttons, but you didn't tell us anything about the keyboard itself, other than it's detected as a generic keyboard.
i have a multimedia keyboard with 104 keys(exluding 17 buttons on the top of the keyboard which are for internet and other multimedia features for eg - Rwd/fwd, vol+/vol-, wake/sleep/power...etc).all my 104 keys are working properly but the buttons on top for the multimedia are not working.i think i need a software to run them.can you tell me which software should i download so that those keys also work.
my control panel shows the following properties of my keyboard :-
1)Standard 101/102-key or microsoft natural keyboard
2)driver provider - Microsoft
3)driver version - 5.1.2600.0
