Keyboard issues

Sep 25, 2013 2:47AM PDT

My girlfriend was typing something on her keyboard when the computer suddenly restarted. It restarted like normal, showed the "Shutting Down" screen and everything, but after it restarted, now the keyboard types different letters than the keys she hits. Like hitting the 'Y' key types 'YUJ'
Hitting 'A' is 'Tab+A'.

she tried restarting the computer manually and shutting it down on her own to see if that would fix it, as well as unplugging and plugging the kb back in.

any idea whats goin on? And any information besides "Try a different keyboard" is appreciated

The BEST test is either to try a different keyboard OR try the non functioning keyboard on another system, it just makes sense!
