Question

Keyboard and mouse do not work properly

Jun 19, 2019 10:24AM PDT

Hei,

I have DELL USB wireless keyboard and mouse, before that I had logitech set. They do not work, One keystroke on keyboard gives like 50 letters, Mouse moves around as it pleases, does not click there I guide it to. I have done clean install on my PC WIN10, tried different updates and yet some hours work well, and suddenly they go crazy. After a while all is OK again and then after a while, keyboard and mouse go crazy again.

Two questions:
1. Do a wired (USB) keyboard and mouse work correctly?
2. Do these wireless devices do the same on another PC or laptop?

Answer
I'd go wired for now.

Also a few issues.

1. A clean W10 install is an incomplete install. I do not expect a machine to work right unless it's a Microsoft Surface PC. I know folk expected after a few decade of Windows to not have to deal with this but here we are.

2. You have a post about a KB and that does not apply to what W10 you have so what W10 do you have? Open a command prompt, type VER, press Enter and share what you get back.

3. Same questions as Kees for the most part.

I have ver 10.0.17763.557 and I do not have wired keyboard/mouse to try. I'd have to go an buy some.

So my bet is it's something other than Windows. Either a hardware issue or more likely whoever installed Windows has forgotten all that they need to do after you install Windows.
