I just wanted Saddam and his henchmen eliminated, but it would seem that chaos would have reigned supreme had we managed to do that without bombing Bagdad to bits.
It is true that his form of discipline kept order in Iraq, but it was very inhumane I.M.O.
According to the geneva convention we now take responsibility.
Glad I am not the politician trying to solve this one peacefully. Sad
As I said somewhere else in this thread, or another thread, the best thing to do is get all the group leaders together round a table and start negotiating a fair solution for all.
It's too late to keep ranting about the fact that we shouldn't have invaded Iraq, we have now, and now is the time to find solutions.
I live in the U.K and do not have any direct interest in the political system in the U.S. ,so I am speaking without a bias to either the democrats, or the republicans.

That's an extremely good point Kiipeat - many thousands more Iraqis would have died without a shodow of a doubt - Saddam was an evil madman NT

Ever think about, Steve...

Steve, ever think about what would have happened if Sadam had died of natural causes? After all, no one lives forever. Think about what would have happened when his two sons fought to see who would be in power, and how the "winner" probably would have taken steps to secure it. Their father was of the Joseph Stalin school, and they were shaped by their father.

Same thing occured to me J. - Saddam being replaced by an equally evil son. Problem solved though this time. Now we have to find a solution to the vacuum.

Re:Kerry not too sure God is with us in the war on terror.

What we need is an honest candidate who won't shy away from such questions. "God is fine for some people," is an answer I could respect. I had hoped for more from Kerry, but I'm beginning to see that he's just another mealy-mouthed politician.
