Question

Keeps turning ON at night (ue49mu6500)

Jul 9, 2018 2:12PM PDT

My new 49 4K Samsung TV keeps turning on at night! Sometimes I see a samsung login, sometimes it says 'connecting anynet receiver' All devices are turned off on the local network?
I see others having this problem but not a solution.

Thanks.

Answer
Always report bugs like this.

And start asking for a fix, refund or exchange. I'm taking your word you did the research and didn't try disabling the HDMI CeC or Samsung's name for that along with any quick start plus updating firmware.

I am not writing there is a fix. I'm writing you need to lay this are Samsung's door for a fix, refund or exchange for a working model.

Yes I did all the normal troubleshooting and checks for updates. Samsung use the term 'AnyNet' and it does seen that it is something related that is 'waking up' the TV. I do have a Bose soundbar that utilises HDMI CeC and works fine.
I have also requested help directly with Samsung.
Thanks again.

I have to disagree.

CeC has been a source of troubles. You can test this by unplugging the HDMI for a test run over night.
