Question

Keeping external speaker settings constant

Jun 20, 2018 5:06PM PDT

Hooked up the new Bose Sound bar through the HDMI port and works great. But when ever I shut things off and come back to watch tv the external speaker setting is back to being off. Is there anyway to keep the setting applied or to make both the tv and Bose have their speakers play at the same time ?

Very few TVs allow TV speakers to be on at the same time as externals via Optical, ARC or Bluetooth. The reason is that you can get into a stadium echo problem so to avoid this few if any TVs allow this.

As to the settings, another reason why folk get a Logitech Harmony.

A standard AV receiver and speakers would eliminate some of the issues.
