I keep getting the following error message when I go to reboot or on startup:
--------------------------------
Windows cannot find 'C\WINDOWS\system32\fservice.exe'.
--------------------------------------

Please help me as I do not know what to do. I can still get online and surf but something is broke somewhere as this shouldn't be doing this.
many thanks and God Bless
Jenny

I would run some scans, check this LINK

Try AVG ANTI SPYWARE and also run a anti virus scan in safe mode.

Try TROJAN HUNTER and scan in safe mode.

If you are still having issues try the V&S FORUM and link this thread there so they know what you already tried.

AntiVirus - Scan from safe mode
Jul 10, 2007 9:46PM PDT

I would install Aavast home. It's a free antivrus program available at
www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html
If you are running Norton or AVG then they should work also, but they must be up to date.

You may need to run the scans from safe mode for this virus. This prevents Windows from loading it and blocking your security program from deleting file hidden in .dll files.

Anti Virus programs do not normally scan system restore files, so once you are clean and the problem is gone, create a new restore point. The problem with backups is that they save viruses as well, so get rid of the old restore points and save only the new one.
