Kaspersky Anti Virus and Windows 7

Oct 31, 2009 9:21AM PDT

I have Vista 64 bit and was installing Windows 7 and the message came up that I would have to uninstall Kaspersky Anti Virus in order to proceed. Now, I don't have Kaspersky and i never had.But I double checked and it was not found.I retried installation and the same message appears. What to do.I went to the Kaspersky site and got a 30 day trial version and installed it. Then, I uninstalled it! Then, I tried installing a third time and it was a success.I have no idea what the problem was.

When you see that message,

is there a "Next" at the bottom of that message screen? If so, choose that.

I remember seeing a similar problem in these forums, (but can't remember where), and the user was able to bypass the message by going to Next.
