JVC stereo CD mode problem

Hi - I have a JVC UX-G60 micro component system and the CD function is not working properly. When in CD mode the tray will not eject and it will stick on ‘reading’ with absolutely no mechanical sounds. When I select any other mode (FM or tape), I can then eject the tray and insert a disc no problem, however going back to CD mode to play it just does what I described above. Any ideas? Things on the remote that a kid could have selected accidentally? Definitely not set to lock the tray. Thanks!

Try cleaning the lens with a cd lens cleaning kit/disc.
