JVC LCD goes to black

Oct 31, 2006 11:11AM PST

I just bought a JVC LT23X475 23 inch LCD. It's connected to my Directv via the S-Cable input and I've noticed that every so often (at no specific interval) the screen will go to black. The audio stays fine but the screen will just all of the sudden go to nothing. I adjusted to the Energy Saver setting and it seems to have done the job...for now?
I called JVC and they suggested I try a different cable. That worked for a little while but the problem started up again.
ALSO.
The screen sometimes looks pixelated and grainy. Mostly noticeable on the local channels (local NBC, CBS, etc.). Do I need to buy some sort of 480i or p converter to run this LCD with my Directv?
Any help would be great.
Thanks.

Do you have this problem playing DVDs or only with DirectTV?
Yes SD video will look grainy and pixelated. Maybe it's time to get HD DirectTV. john

TIME TO UPGRADE

First it sounds like t.v. problem cant help you there, But you must upgrade to a hi-def system no s.vidio usually the upgrade is free or a small fee then add the hi-def service usually $10.00 extra per month and well worth it and make sure you use a h.d.m.i. cable then you will be in hi-def heaven good luck and please post back to us stewweeee
