JVC GR-D30U low contrast warning blinking with black screen

Mar 1, 2009 4:34AM PST

Newbie here. I have had my camera sitting on the shelf for a couple of years due to this warning on the screen. I get a person shape, a < and a > signal with a mountain signal on the end. All 4 are contrast warnings according to the manual. Also, the screen is black, the only thing on the screen are indicators like date, battery life, pause, the A for automatic and a hand in the bottom left hand corner that is a stop warning I guess. Does anyone know how to get rid of them and allow me to once again use my camera? I invested a lot of money into this camera 5 years ago and have not used it in 2 so I figured I would try to fix it. Please help. Thank you!

Thanks for your reply. I believe that offer stopped in 2007 according to what I found so I would not qualify. Also they ask for a receipt but I have lost it since purchased 5 years ago. Thanks for trying to help. I appreciate it.
