JVC Everio software bugs - DVD drives affected.

I have recently purchased a JVC Everio GZ-HD300. It comes with software for your pc to manage your video files. After I load the software using the 'Quick installation' option, my cd/dvd drives lose their identity. When I look at them in My Computer, it knows them only as drives 'E' and 'F', where before the software is loaded, they have unique identities such as 'DVD drive' and 'CD ROM'. What caught my attention to this was when I inserted a music cd in my pc, the 'Auto run' window did not come up asking me to select which program to open the cd with. Has anyone else run into this or as similar issue?
