jvc everio hd gz3u question about editing software

i stupidly bought a floor model and it did not come with editing software.

Since this looks just like some USB HDD to the PC/Apples did you try copying a video file over and

1. Playing it with VLC PLAYER
2. Converting it to something your video editor uses with HANDBRAKE

And what video editors do you have now?

i found a way to do it by importing the files off of my camera and then changing the .tod to.mpeg which allows me to play in quicktime.there is an option to move to over to iMovie which then allows me to edit. not sure if this is just a long way but it works up to this point.
