Just want to beam Net Flix from computer to TV

Mar 8, 2011 3:00AM PST

I sent initial message to supplier. Suppler recommended and I ordered the 'Ultra' described. I can see no way to connect. I have five(5) children. Help!

Message :
Recently installed a wireless TV extender in order to send programming from Netflix on computer to my TV. It didn't work and VIZIO says it won't. I still have it and use it for a DVD player.
I need a wired solution. What can you supply me to simply run a cable to transfer from my HP Pavilion A6357A to my Vizio L32 HDTV10A, build 2006?

At 50 feet I find most cables to fail. Why not get a Roku box (99 bucks or less) and get netflix that way?

Netflix from Blu-Ray player

Better yet, why not update your Blu-Ray DVD player to get one that is already Internet enabled (wireless or wired). I don't know the Vizio product line, but if they have a good DVD player, having one that is "automatically" compatible with your HDTV, remote and all, is a good idea. My Blu-Ray player and HDTV are both Samsung, and both are Internet enabled. However, the DVD player is already set up with the Netflix and other Internet applications for instantly watching movies.

FWIW, I also found that trying to stream movies wirelessly can be a problem (stopping to download the streamed movie, right in the middle of it), but maybe that is because my wireless router is in another room, about 50 feet away. Instead of using wireless, I just ran a new Ethernet cable to the DVD player and changed the setting to wired. Everything now works great (but read my next post about Comcast/xFinity/Fancast).
