Just the facts

by qsak / March 27, 2006 11:36 PM PST

Please if you are going to talk about things on the show that you don't understand have someone research the facts for you. Listening is getting painful.

Steve Jobs will not be the majority stockholder of Disney. He is the largest single stockholder. To be the major stockholder he would need to own 50.1% of the stock. He doesn't own anywhere near that amount.

Steve Jobs' sale of Apple stock, that recently became vested, was most likely to pay the taxes on that stock. When the shares became vested, it was concidered income by the IRS which created a large tax liability.

Apple Computer and Apple Records did not just come to an agreement shake hands and walk away saying we will do computers and you can do music. Apple Computer has paid Apple Records over 26 million dollars.

Neutrons are in the nucleus of an atom electrons are in shells.

Perhaps it was misspoken yesterday (though I don't remember hearing it)but they have noted before on the Buzz Out Loud podcast the difference between being a majority shareholder versus the one who holds the largest amount of stock and they know Steve is the latter.

Also, Tom specifically mentioned that Apple Computer "settled" with Apple Corps in the past. They did not imply that the two just "came to an agreement, shook hands and walked away."

And Tom also mentioned that electrons were in the shell but it was confusing if the article was referring to the energy levels in the nucleus or the shell by what we heard in the podcast.
