Just terrible service

Whats the big who-ha about Cricket Broadband Wireless? If you want my opinion, it's not worth buying. I spent $140 for the gizmo and first month's service. What did I get? Nothing much better than dialup speed! They proclaim its broadband or similar to DSL! Ha! Ok, well I have to say this, during non-peak hours, my downloads were ok, but uploads were never good. I contacted their customer service, we walked through the settings, then went to the pinging website. I gave the results to the customer service rep, who agreed there was something wrong. Download tested at near 1.1 Mbps, upload less than 100 Kbps, (make sure you see that difference (Mb vs. Kb)). So I asked what now? They told me that a technician was gonna call me when he got to my area and would test the location himself. (I guess getting five out of five bars on signal strength means just lights on the gizmo and software utility). I Never got a call, never got a visit by any technician, even though customer service said there was indeed a problem, and verified it with an email that "we do not let any problems go unchecked". Well, I am not giving them any more money for any more monthly service. Makes me wonder if their cell phone service is just as bad.
