Just Reinstalled windows XP Pro

Jan 10, 2010 9:24AM PST

I just reinstalled windows xp pro on my dell dimension 3000. However, I am unable to connect to the internet. I tried hardwiring my pc directly to the modem and it still doesnt work. I see that the ethernet jack in the back of the pc is green but when i plug in the ethernet cable the light flickers between green and orange. Does anyone know what i should do?

Thanks a lot for any help!

I forgot to install the network driver. But now I'm running windows update which should take sometime. After that, do I need to go back to dells website and install the other drivers or will windows update installs those anyway? Also I cant seem to change the resolution on the computer. Can someone help with this?

Thanks

To Change Screen Resolution
Oct 9, 2010 4:54PM PDT

If you have xp I think this will still work. Click on the start icon so that your start menu pops up and in the blank search box , type screen resoulution. There should be an option that will pop up. Click on somthing like screen resolution or display. If that don't work click the start menu and control panel then desplay and you should find it there. Hope that helps.
